OnePlus 5 Features Leaked, Emerges As Galaxy S8's Biggest Competitor

OnePlus 5 Features Leaked, Emerges As Galaxy S8's Biggest Competitor

OnePlus has always been known for their top-tier features and fairly cheap, flagship-nature smartphones. According to the latest rumor, OnePlus might up the specifications of the OnePlus 5, but this time, things could be taking a different route from the display side of things.

The OnePlus 5 is said to be featuring a 4000mAh battery with Dash Charge fast charging support. Now, the stage is set for the launch of the next-generation flagship, which is reportedly named as OnePlus 5. If this stands true, OnePlus 5 will give direct competition to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S8 which also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The OnePlus 5 is going to be the successor of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T released in 2016.

If the smartphone is released in November, it would mark exactly one year since the release of the OnePlus 3T handset.

As per earlier rumours, the OnePlus 5 will be featuring a dual edged display just like the Galaxy S7 Edge. As for camera lovers, this would even help the user to take better and more dynamic pictures as the other camera will sport a wide angle lens. That might sound shocking at first, but the OnePlus 3 did ship with 6GB of RAM a year ago, so making the jump to the next threshold seems only logical. The fingerprint scanner could be relocated to the back of the device. The only difference is, OnePlus will situate it more at the center than what Samsung did. The most awaited device will only be 7mm thick.

Other rumoured key elements of the handset are 8GB of RAM and a 23 megapixel camera at the back with features including optical image stabilisation.

It follows that there will be a new-gen Snapdragon 835 chip under the hood, backed up by a whopping 8GB of RAM. The release of this phone is not yet confirmed by the company, but we are expecting it to happen in the second half of this year.
