Trump's 2016 tax returns won't go publice because of audit: White House

The IRS has said "nothing prevents individuals from sharing their own tax information" ― including being under audit.

Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, of California, one of Trump's sharpest critics in the House, spoke to protesters just before they set off on a march to the National Mall.

The poll also noted that 67 percent of Republicans want to see their president's tax returns released, making it clear that an interest in transparency is a mostly bi-partisan issue.

President Trump apparently remains defiant in response to calls that he release his tax returns, a demand made loudly and visibly this weekend by thousands of protesters around the U.S.

President Donald Trump says "someone should look into who paid" for the rallies around the country Saturday that urged him to release his tax returns.

Messing told MSNBC: "We know for a fact our current administration has deep links to Russian Federation". Numerous protests featured an inflatable chicken, a mascot of sorts for the march, in a bid to mock Trump's unwillingness to share his returns.

Several hundred protesters marched across the bridge that divides West Palm Beach and Palm Beach, chanting and hoisting signs that read "Don the Con", "Go back to New York", "Show your taxes!" and "Show me the money!"

Tax Day marches are scheduled in three North Carolina cities to protest President Donald Trump refusing to release his tax returns. When pressed on the issue, he said he doesn't think most Americans care. The ongoing concern about Trump's refusal to release his tax returns, by contrast, is fueled by legitimate concerns that Trump's presidency is compromised-perhaps dangerously so-by conflicts of interest pertaining to global affairs, domestic tax reform, and other issues.

Presidents are not required to release their tax returns, but have done so voluntarily from the 1970s. "It's been a longstanding tradition for presidents to undertake that responsibility and Mr. Trump is not".

The Tax March rallies were organised through social media by a professor at Vermont Law School, Jennifer Taub, and comedian Frank Lesser.

A coalition of 69 organizations had sponsored the so-called "Tax March".

Tax Day demonstrators gather on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol on April 15, 2017 in Washington, D.C.

While U.S. presidents are not required to release their tax returns, almost all U.S. presidents had voluntarily released them since 1970s.
