Instagram for Android can now work when offline too

With this support, users will be able to browse through Instagram's preloaded feed and can even like or save posts even without Internet access. More will come in the following months, and Instagram says it's exploring an iOS version, TechCrunch reports.

You will be able to save any posts to your own personal collection, as well being able to create your own new posts and save drafts.

This new Instagram development is particularly useful when you are online in areas where the Internet access is unreliable. This includes profiles that were visited and old versions of the Explore tab.

Offline mode is already available on Android devices, but it's unclear if it will make its way to iOS devices. As per the reports, 600 million users are outside of the U.S. so that company mainly targeted the users with limited connectivity. That indeed is a great achievement, and it's all thanks to Stories and a few other features "copied" from Snapchat.

Facebook-owned Instagram has every reason to be proud of its recent achievement. While Snapchat seems to have forgotten about the developing world, Instagram knows everyone everywhere wants visual communication.

Instagram for Android users can expect this feature to begin rolling out immediately. Facebook said that as of November, the free connectivity program reaches more than 40 million people. In the roadmap, the picture-sharing app will be introducing a tool that allows consumers to book an appointment directly from their Instagram profiles.
