Rolf Harris released from prison as he faces indecent assault charges

Rolf Harris has arrived back at his home in Berkshire this morning, following his release from Stafford Prison earlier today.

His release from prison means he will now be able to attend the court in person, while on bail, for the remainder of the trial.

Harris is accused of indecently assaulting three teenage girls in the 1970s and 1980s.

Jurors have been made aware of the former TV star's previous conviction in 2014.

He is facing four indecent assault charges involving three women who accuse him of groping them when they were teenagers in 1971, 1978 and 1983.

She said she was 13 years old when she and her friends visited a BBC studio in London and met Harris in the green room after the show.

Justice Taylor said she granted Harris bail after an application by the defence, which was not opposed by the prosecution.

She told the court: 'I absolutely have not (fabricated evidence).

"I've said he's a fraud, he's a groper, he's a dirty old man".

"As a result Mr Harris will no longer be appearing in this court over the videolink following his release from prison".

"From my point of view, no-one was taking me seriously so I didn't take it any further at that stage", she said. Should Rolf Harris have been released on bail?

She said: "Every time he came on the TV, I told people "he's a pervert" or something along those lines". Harris has denied all charges.

The trial will resume on Monday.
