Showers move in late tonight, promising a wet start to Monday

Monday morning will be a dry commute, but on the return home you can expect some light rain showers. In fact if the storms congregate there it could take a lot of energy away from our storm potential. High pressure will build in with highs in the upper 70s.

Tonight scattered showers/storms will continue with lows in the low 50s.

A cold front passes offshore in the morning on Tuesday, followed by clearing skies on the heels of a drying air mass from the Ohio River Valley.

A developing coastal storm will be awfully close to CT tomorrow, however, it is expected to glide south of New England.

Sea breezes develop during the day. Wednesday a slight chance of showers will remain thanks to another lower pressure system dropping into the area.

Wednesday will start cloudy, but cloud will break up well during the afternoon with sunny spells developing and sunshine also expected on Thursday. That's what happened Saturday, with showers and rain across much of the Memphis metro.

Highs stay in the low 70's on Thursday with mainly cloudy skies. For this late May, we should be topping out in the low 70s, but Monday's highs struggle to get to 60. Highs will be warmer in the upper 70s to around 80° but certainly could be cooler if there's more rain that keeps temperatures cooler. Showers and a few thunderstorms brought between one-third and one-half inch of rain to the area, adding to a very soggy spring with rainfall running more than 4 inches above normal since March 1.
