'Dancing With The Stars' Finale Recap: A Night Full Of Perfect Scores

'Dancing With The Stars' Finale Recap: A Night Full Of Perfect Scores

It's only one night away from finding out the new king/queen of the ballroom as the three finalists performed in the first part of the finale on Monday night, May 22. Then it was the always fun, no-holds-barred, shoot-for-the-moon freestyle. They earned a 32 out of 40 that time, which still tied for the highest score of that week. Rashad's total score is 157. But frankly, whoever wins will make for a deserving "Dancing with the Stars" champion. That's why he wants the mirror ball more than anything!

In the first round of redemption dances, two Viennese Waltzes were broken up by a Quickstep.

What the judges said: "The only thing missing was a beer and a hot dog, I loved it!" said Len. That freaking W flag better stand for "womp womp" Tuesday night. Bruno called the routine brilliant, Carrie Ann agreeing. Kordei earned 38 points. Also: a performance from the TV musical movie "Dirty Dancing"; a preview of a summer dance tour. After reviewing it, Val acknowledged that their quickstep wasn't so quick!

LA: I've come to realize that I care more about my personal journey than comparing it to others. She rolled her ankle in rehearsal and it looked pretty painful, but Normani powered through. The likable football player improves every single week and on night one of the finale on May 22, he got TWO PERFECT SCORES. Occasionally, he gets out of step with his feet, but is willing to overlook that because she just loves him.

Yesterday, on Monday night, i.e., in Part 1 of the finale, the judges awarded ideal 40s to each of the three finalists for their freestyles. Kordei has proven that her dance moves are just a good as her voice! By this point in the competition the scoring is so generous that you would have to commit a hate crime on the dance floor to receive less than 8s or 9s. And when we got to the serious stuff, I made sure it meant something to David. It was flowing and handsome, and they even incorporated a couple of kids in there to represent the legacy Normani hopes to leave behind.

Rashad and Emma tried to redeem their take on the Viennese waltz, and they did not disappoint. It's a truly Cinderella story. However, it is expected that they will perform something different. Yowza! Normani is still my favorite to win - she's been the most consistent and has shown steady improvement over the season. This has been a fun season, albeit a somewhat surprising one given some of the eliminations that happened over the course of the entire season.

The 2 bonded and their friendship and connection is noticeable. ordei and Chemerkovskiy's Contemporary dance was powerful and emotional.

On Tuesday night, the pairs will perform 24-hour fusion challenge and the scores will be added to the current scores.

David and Lindsay: They reprise their Magic Mike dance.
