Lib Dems plan £100-a-week living expenses fund for business start-ups

"The Liberal Democrats are now that party".

He said Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn had "let you down by voting with Theresa May on Brexit - not against her".

He said the haircut is the "purest example" of his passion for the Lib Dems.

"We remain opposed to any expansion of Heathrow, Stansted or Gatwick and any new airport in the Thames estuary and will focus instead on improving existing regional airports such as Birmingham and Manchester", said the party in its manifesto.

The IFS has also questioned whether the policy would be as effective as other schemes, such as breakfast clubs, which the Lib Dems say they will "promote", but not specifically fund.

Young people still living with their parents could get a loan of up to £2,000 to help them move out under plans unveiled in the Liberal Democrat manifesto today.

The Liberal Democrats want you to have a choice over your future.

But an undeterred Mr Farron urged Britons to follow the lead of French voters who rejected the "two exhausted old parties" to choose Emmanuel Macron as their new president.

Imagine a brighter future.

They include tripling the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) - which provides extra funding for early years settings for children from disadvantaged backgrounds - to £1,000 per pupil a year, up from £302 in 2015-16.

The party also pledges to commit itself to protecting EU-funded schemes such as the Erasmus exchange programme, workers' rights derived from European Union law, environmental standards and maintaining "the closest possible cooperation" on justice and home affairs. "The housing market is failing, we need to intervene to ensure everyone has a decent, affordable home to live in and those who want to buy a home can do so".

"The market has failed to deliver, which is why we are setting out radical plans to help those being priced out of renting their own home".

And in an appeal to voters to support the Lib Dems, he said: "Theresa May and Nigel Farage's cold, mean-spirited Britain is not the Britain I love".

Controversially they also plan to legalise cannabis so it can be taxed and sold on the high street - which they estimate would raise £1bn in tax revenues.

The manifesto also outlines proposals to restore housing benefit for young people, create a discounted bus pass for 16-21 year olds and introduce votes for 16-year-olds at elections and referendums across the UK.

The Liberal Democrats have also said they accept that new nuclear power stations can "play a role" in electricity supply provided "concerns about safety, disposal of waste and cost are adequately addressed, new technology is incorporated, and there is no public subsidy for new build".
