Brendan Rodgers backing Celtic to clinch treble

Tom Rogic admitted his Scottish Cup final victor was what dreams are made of after his stoppage-time solo goal clinched the treble for Celtic.

Jonny Hayes had given the Dons the lead before Stuart Armstrong levelled nearly immediately.

Celtic fired back nearly immediately when the ball broke to Stuart Armstrong on the edge of the Aberdeen area and he struck a low shot past Joe Lewis to level the scores.

His Aberdeen side have the chance to land their second trophy of his reign when they take on Celtic in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park tomorrow.

Celtic have secured numerous records this season as they romped to a sixth Premiership title in a row and lifted the League Cup.

Asked directly about the link to Sunderland, McInnes said: "I'm only thinking about winning this game tomorrow".

"Give credit to my players and the Aberdeen players because they worked tirelessly throughout the game but as it wore on, our quality and movement started to pay dividends".

"There was nothing in the game except we lacked a wee bit of legs and impetus to go forward and apply pressure". It'll be hard for them to get close to Celtic next year without massive investment.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has praised Derek McInnes ahead of the Scottish Cup final with Aberdeen on Saturday.

Celtic fans traditionally gather at the club's Parkhead stadium to greet the players after a cup final victory.

"We implemented how we wanted to go about our business and get after them and Celtic struggled to get any real flow or rhythm into their game and that was important.

It's impossible to put it into words, but it's probably the best feeling you can have on the football pitch to score the victor in the last minute". "For the season, what we've done - we deserve this!"

Celtic are hoping to wrap-up a momentous domestic treble and write their names in history.

"My team feel ready and ready to take the opportunity and if we play like we can, we have a chance". We'll have a go at it again next year.

We know that if we turn up, we're the best team in Scotland.
