'March for Truth' calls for investigation into Trump, Russia

Apologies for not getting the "Go Fact Yourself" sign.

But Trump's decision Thursday to pull out of the Paris treaty, which is created to cut harmful emissions and slow the Earth's warming, sparked a wave of global condemnation and helped fuel some of the many protest marches on Saturday. He said he'd do the same if Obama was still in office. The American people have a right to get a full accounting of what happened and how the current administration is involved, so that we can make informed decisions about how to move forward.

Christi Branch, a resident of Waynesboro, Virginia, said she drove three hours to Washington to support the President. "I'm just wanted to be here to support my president and the promises made and the promises he kept", she said.

The rally's name was a reference to Trump's remarks this week announcing his decision to pull out of the Paris climate accord. "To say they are not transparent isn't even beginning to characterize it".

Timothy Snyder, professor of history at Yale University and the author of "On Tyranny", said he felt he had to take pert in the March for Truth. In addition to Lovett, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., and activist Linda Sarsour were also among the speakers.

While an investigation into possible Russian meddling during last year's election is underway, the groups want "an independent commission with subpoena powers".

In his speech, Raskin listed some of Trump's advisers and staffers -Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and Michael Flynn - and detailed their alleged connections to Russian Federation. "The Women's March stands side by side with the March for Truth because when we fight for truth, we are also fighting for the undocumented communities, for women, for our Muslim brothers and sisters and our planet". "Donald Trump has a staff infection and it's spreading everyday".

In New Jersey, a few hundred protesters rallied near one of Trump's golf clubs.

In Chicago, people gathered at Federal Plaza before making their way to Trump Tower. "That's why we're marching on Saturday".

The Trump supporters included Vince Harrison, 56, a burly retired firefighter from Washington, who said it was his first rally ever.

As if to drive the point home further that truth is needed, journalist Alejandro Alvarez spoke to two other Trump supporters at the White House, one of whom claimed that "CNN is ISIS" (they're not).
