Buttler hits rapid 61 as England all out for 310 against NZ

Skipper Eoin Morgan warned his side's Champions Trophy rivals that England are not satisfied with simply reaching the semi-finals after sealing their place in the last four with victory over New Zealand at Cardiff.

Buttler at least had the pleasure of sending Trent Boult (1-56) for a sensational six in the 46th over after the wicketkeeper-batsman calmly stepped aside and tipped the ball backward over his shoulder.

From the first two balls of the day, Roy's struggles for form were evident as Tim Southee first appealed for lbw - correctly not given, hitting outside the line - and then beat his outside edge second up.

Jason Roy (13) was sent back early by Milne as the opener tried to walk across his stumps to a quick delivery which knocked his stumps as he tried to flick the ball over the leg side. For New Zealand, wickets fell at regular intervals though the fourth wicket between Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor scored 93 runs but wasn't good enough to steer the team to victory.

It was Williamson's fifth straight ODI 50 against England and he appeared distinctly unhappy at the time of his dismissal with the state of the pitch.

England have won both their games guaranteeing their spot, while New Zealand will be relying on today's victors to do them a favour in their final group game. Jimmy Neesham carted Plunkett for six but was caught on the mid-wicket fence the next ball by Alex Hales.

After Moeen Ali fell to a sharp catch at backward square-leg off Anderson, a third wicket for the addition of 42 in seven overs meant England still could not press the button.

The ball may be replaced by either the swing of David Willey or the pace and bounce of Steven Finn, and they also joined the squad as a replacement for Chris Woakes but there will likely the player Adil Rashid will be new for the team.

Morgan's men are through to the semi-finals after beating New Zealand, but have the chance to put Australia out.

Liam Plunkett had the best bowling figure with 4/55 from 9.3 overs for England.

But Hales, having smeared Milne over the boundary at long off, was tricked by a slower ball next delivery and departed at 118.

It's no surprise then that Morgan wants his team to be more clinical with the bat.

Williamson was disappointed with his side's performance, and said: "They bat very deep with a lot of power, so restricting them wasn't a bad effort".

Chasing a target of 311, the Black Caps were bundled out for 223 runs in just 44.3 overs. "He's a very good bowler, unique in the fact that he bowls at such good pace, off maybe ten-metre run-up, which you don't see too much around the world", said Williamson.

Earlier, Jos Buttler had kept England rolling at the wicket by delivering a quality half-century.
