Molotov Cocktails and 7.5 Tonne Lorry: London Attack Could Have Been Worse

Another arrest was made early Saturday morning in connection with the London Bridge terror attack, just hours after police released additional details about the investigation, including a photo of a knife used by the attackers.

United Kingdom police announced the arrest of 28-year-old man on investigation of the terrorist attack on London bridge.

The trio behind the London Bridge attack filled their van with petroleum bombs, used mysterious ceramic pink knives and originally planned to rent a 7.5-tonne truck, suggesting that they intended more carnage before officers shot them dead, police said.

The three attackers were wearing fake suicide belts consisting of plastic water bottles wrapped in grey duct tape during the London attack.

Haydon said counter-terrorism officers have so far spoken to 262 people from 19 different countries.

Funds will go to the charity's UK Solidarity Fund, which was launched in response to the Manchester Arena and London Bridge attacks.

Police in England made another arrest on Saturday after releasing additional details about the recent London Bridge terrorist attack.

Identical knives, with the brand name Ernesto, were carried by Rachid Redouane, 30, and 22-year-old Youssef Zaghba. But his bank card was declined and he was forced to use the much smaller, lighter B&Q van.

Dramatic new vision has emerged of police officers shooting dead the three London Bridge attackers in Borough Market.

"We believe their safe house was in Barking Road in East London, so E8 in particular, we have found evidence in a top floor flat at premises there which certainly links them to the attack".

All three of the attackers were armed with pink ceramic knives, believed to have been bought from a Lidl store.

Instead he resorted to "plan B" and rented a white van which ploughed into pedestrians as the perpetrators launched their deadly rampage last Saturday night, killing eight victims and injuring dozens more.

Also in the van were 13 Molotov cocktails and two blow torches to ignite them - which could also fit the siege theory.

Investigators also found gravel bags, which also could have been part of their cover story, or may have been "used to weigh the vehicle down", making it heavier and giving it more force.

Butt, who police consider the attack ringleader, had been on bail after being arrested for fraud in a case in October of past year, police said.

Inspector Jim Cole, who was scrambled from his south London police station, said the response was "like something out of a Battle of Britain film" as officers piled into vehicles and raced to the scene.

Six other men remain in custody.

Police Commander Dean Haydon, head of the Met's Counter Terrorism Command, appealed to the public for information about the knives.

"I agree with the Prime Minister [Theresa May] when she said that we do need to review across the board how we are tackling terrorism, in terms of our powers, in terms of how we are working with our communities and what is happening in our communities, in terms of the internet, in terms of our equipment, in terms of our computers and so forth".
