Monsoon session 2017 begins today, here is the agenda

The stage is set for a stormy monsoon session of Parliament, beginning Monday, as the Opposition has geared up to corner the Narendra Modi government on a range of issues.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, while making the obituary references, also condemned the terrorist attack on Amarnath pilgrims and described it as a "cowardly" act.

Even as three top Union Ministers - Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj - on Friday briefed the Opposition, including the Congress, on the standoff with China and situation in Kashmir post-Amarnath pilgrims attack, the Opposition is in no mood to let the government to off the hook.

Post GST implementation, monsoon session will have many more agendas to achieve by resolving various issues along with bills passage.

The Monsoon session of Parliament began today. The Opposition parties are expected to raise some questions, though they may not be very aggressive in their strategy on the issue. "It is a matter of country's security and we will raise it in Parliament", Azad told reporters after an all-party meeting convened by the government at Parliament Library building.

Observing that differences with China over Kashmir was a new focal point, the Congress today said it would seek a debate in Parliament on the issue, while asserting that the party stood with the government on matters of territorial integrity and national security.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the highest level of dignity has been maintained in the whole process of Presidential Election till now and no situation of any bitterness surfaced among the political parties.

The Prime Minister also called on all the party to support the war against corruption, which has been initiated by the government.

Prime Minister Modi on Sunday, without naming Trinamool Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal, hit out at the corruption plaguing the nation.
