Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury walked away with the Best Direction award for "Pink", a hard-hitting drama which put forth the message that when a woman says no, it is a no. The lead actress in the film, Taapsee Pannu, was chosen to be the Woman of The Year and AR Rahman was honored with the Special Contribution to Indian Cinema award.

Actor Diljit Dosanjh who made his Bollywood debut with "Udta Punjab" won the Best debutant award for his role in the movie.

Rahman sang two lines from "Maa Tujhe Salaam" much to the pleasure of the group of onlookers on the last day of the eighteenth release of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards. "Congratulations @aliabhatt." On the other hand, Alia wrote: "Here's to Udta Punjab @shahidkapoor". The best music director award went to Pritam, the best playback singer male award was given to Amit Mishra for "Bulleya" and Amitabh Bhattacharya won the best lyricist award for "Channa mereya".

Other nominees in the field included Karan Johar for "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, ' Neeraj Pandey for 'M.S. Dhoni, ' Ram Madhvani for 'Neerja, ' Ali Abbas Zafar for 'Sultan" and Abhishek Chaubey for 'Udta Punjab'.

The hosts for the ceremony were Saif Ali Khan and Johar, who had the audience in splits with their amusing one-liners and banter.

For IIFA Rocks 2017, Varun Dhawan chose a seersucker navy suit from Paul Smith, an Emporio Armani ice blue shirt, a pocket square and red tie from Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent Chelsea boots rounding it with a clean shaven look and sleek pulled back hairstyle.

On the work front, the actor is gearing up for his next film, "Padmavati" which also stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.

Katrina Kaif too took to Instagram to share a picture from her birthday party.

There was also a dance face-off between original Judwaa star Salman and Varun, who is reprising the superstar's character in the film's reboot.
