Wonder Woman the star among Warner Bros' expanding superhero franchise

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics announced the follow-up at the Comic-Con in San Diego, attended by none other than the now world famous Israeli actress. This will mean that Wonder Woman would have made the most most money out of every film realeased this summer so far. The studio hasn't confirmed, though, if Jenkins will be back in the director's chair for Wonder Woman 2.

As NME reports, the numbers also mean that Wonder Woman is the highest grossing film directed by a woman.

Wonder Woman took her victory lap at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. Gal Gadot is all set to return as Diana, and director Patty Jenkins is reportedly in talks to return as well.

"Wonder Woman" is the third biggest Warner Bros. movie of all-time, behind blockbuster hits "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises".

Momoa also debuted the first look at the standalone "Aquaman" movie, and revealed the aquatic superhero will be battling his brother, the supervillain Ocean Master, in the film due out next year.

Scant details about the film were released, but star Gal Gadot will be donning her Wonder Woman boots for a second turn in the role.

Thus far, Wonder Woman has made more than $385 million in the US and $770 million around the world, CNN reported, and in its opening weekend alone made $103.1 million-the biggest opening weekend for a female director.

Gadot entered the Hall arm in arm with her Justice League co-star Ben Affleck, joining cast mates Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher onstage to show off a new trailer for the November 17 release.

"Wonder Woman's" surpassed expectations right out of the gate. Now I want to make Wonder Woman 2.
