Colbert Interviews God, Mocks Trump's 'Divine Permission' To Fight North Korea

On Wednesday night, Stephen Colbert kicked off his show by addressing the increased tensions between the USA and North Korea. "They're a US territory".

Luckily, he said, President Donald Trump stepped up in a pure moment of statesmanship to de-escalate Kim Jong-un's rhetoric.

H played the clip of Trump saying, "they will be met with fire and fury and, frankly, power the likes of which this world has never seen before".

Ms Berger said: "I don't think we have a much higher chance of being involved in a military conflict than we did in the a year ago or two".

Trump took to Twitter this morning, extolling improvements to the American stockpile of nuclear weapons, tweeting: "m$3 y first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal".

There were a few things on Colbert's laundry list that he wanted the North Korean dictator to know, though.

"They will be met with the fire and fury like the world has never seen".

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States", President Trump told reporters Tuesday.

Having come out with that kind of rhetoric from the presidential level raises the ante, and what we have always done in the past is take the rhetoric from North Korea with a grain of salt. "We also have to recognize, though, as much as there is a tendency in the USA media to say the young ruler is crazy or not to be trusted or insane...look, he's unpredictable, but he hasn't launched a strike against Japan."The rhetoric of a strike at Guam we should be skeptical about", Kennedy added". The United States, we sanction a lot of other countries. Colbert said. "You're going to get us all killed".
