Scaramucci criticizes Trump in Sunday interview before mysteriously hinting about Bannon's demise

Scaramucci spoke to ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on ABC News' "This Week" today in his first television interview since his whirlwind 11-day stint in the White House.

Scaramucci said he didn't know and hasn't directly asked Bannon about his views. "I think [Trump] needed to be much harsher as it related to white supremacists".

In an interview with NBC on Sunday, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster repeatedly refused to answer whether he would work with Bannon.

Scaramucci's short tenure was accompanied by a series of scandals in the media, with the then-communications director scolding previous and acting White House staff members.

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides", Trump said at a press conference. "This hate and division must stop, and it must stop now".

Asked again, McMaster said, "I am ready to work anybody who will help advance the President's agenda and advance the security, prosperity of the American people".

Mr Scaramucci criticised the influence of Mr Bannon and his right-wing Breitbart News website, suggesting the President needed to move more toward the mainstream and moderates in order to push through "a very successful legislative agenda".

Interviewer George Stephanopoulos asked him who he was referred to, but Mr Scaramucci said only that he had already "named some names". Though the interview and subsequent Facebook live Q&A were full of his usual Trump ass-kissing, The Mooch pointedly insisted that the president take a firm stand against racism. Republicans and Democrats immediately criticized Trump's lackluster condemnation.

SCARAMUCCI: Yes, the whole thing is nonsensical, it's not serving the president's interests.

On ABC, Scaramucci said he had talked to Trump in the past week and hinted ominously at Bannon's future.

During his brief time working for the US President, Mr Scaramucci turned the White House upside down.

He was ousted after just 10 days as spokesman after the release of a phone recording in which he launched a strongly worded attack on White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and directed profanity-laced insults at chief strategist Steve Bannon.

"Listen, there's probably mutual disappointment on both sides, again I have to be accountable for what I did and I am", he said. "I want to be totally accountable for what I did, and obviously I paid the consequences of having that sort of conversation with him".
