PM congratulates TDP on poll victory in Andhra Pradesh

Accusing the ruling party of misusing the power, Jagan said that YSRCP had to take a step back because TDP retorted forcefully by not only spending 200 crore rupees just for one byelection but also deploying its cabinet in Nandyal. The government polytechnic college in the norms is counting in 19 rounds of 14 tables. Nandyal people know Jagan's reality and gave him a befitting reply, said Naidu.

While the TDP candidate got 97,076 votes, his rival polled 69,610.

YSR Congress leaders and supporters, who had been confident of bagging the Assembly seat, were a disappointed lot as counting continued round after round.

Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has won the Nandyal by-polls, by a thumping margin of 27,466 votes.

Nandyal By Elections were held on 23rd August. Hence, in a bid to outdo each other, the TDP and the YSRCP went all out during the election campaign. YSRCP has been successfully ousted from the competition at Nandyal bye elections.

According to sources close to Mr Reddy, Mr Kishor's team had predicted a 6,000-vote victory for YSRC candidate Shilpa Mohan Reddy over TD candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy.

The bypoll was necessitated after the death of Bhuma Nagi Reddy, who had quit the YSR Congress party to join the ruling TDP a year ago.

Silpa Mohan Reddy, a former Andhra Minister and Nandyal MLA for two times is a long-time rival of Bhuma Reddy in the TDP.

Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, responding on the election result, said that people of the constituency trusted her family. He walked out of the counting hall as TDP was leading in every round.
