Donald Trump Attacks ESPN 'Apologize For Untruth!'

A few days after his spokesperson addressed the controversy from the briefing room podium, President Trump - without using specifics - said that ESPN should "apologize for untruth" in a tweet on Friday morning.

In a series of tweets on Monday, Hill wrote "Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists" and that Trump's "rise is a direct result of white supremacy". He also asked for an apology.

"Hill's apology made it clear that her comments, which included a tweet saying, "[Trump's] the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime. "I think the point is that ESPN has been hypocritical", she said.

The remarks come after conservative backlash to the channel following SportsCenter co-host Jemele Hill called Trump a "bigot" and a "white supremacist" in a string of tweets.

Trump's not-so-subtle response was a reaction to controversy surrounding host Jemele Hill, an outspoken liberal who now has a pair of photographs with Barack and Michelle Obama pinned atop her Twitter feed.

If the press secretary had explained why she believes Hill is mistaken, no problem.

"My comments on Twitter expressed my personal beliefs", Hill said.

ESPN has already issued a statement on Hill's comments, saying they were inappropriate and do not represent the network's views and values. She added her respect for ESPN and her co-workers "remains unconditional".

It turns out ESPN may have tried to punish "SC6" anchor Jemele Hill after all.

That's a more forceful than usual statement from ESPN, until you think of how the definition of "ask" leaves an bad lot of wiggle room.

The Democratic Coalition's ethics complaint was filed with the Office of Government Ethics against Huckabee Sanders because it believed "she crossed the line and put herself in dubious legal territory", the Wrap reported. "Lower operating income was due to a decline at ESPN", the network's parent company, Disney, noted in its third quarter earnings report.

Pay-TV subscriptions to ESPN dropped to around 87 million subscribers at the end of 2016 from a peak of more than 100 million in 2011, according to Nielsen NV.

She covered primarily MSU sports from 1999-2005 before joining ESPN. An ESPN source told Business Insider that the problem wasn't so much Cohn's political angle as her speculation on business issues. "I think that's what they have to clarify more than anything else".

Ms. Hill and Mr. Smith ended up hosting the show as usual.

'Inflammatory, but historically accurate, ' she said in one of her tweets defending Kaepernick.
