Sooners remain No. 3 in coaches poll

The top is unchanged with Alabama and Oklahoma in the 1-2 spots.

Oklahoma State (3-0) is ranked sixth with Washington (3-0) close behind. The Sooners received the remaining first-place vote. Penn State and USC round out the top five at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

The Big 12 was not well represented in the poll, with only three schools making the top 25. Clemson (15) 3. Oklahoma (1) 4.

One team that plummeted was LSU (2-1), which fell from No. 12 to 25 after being routed 37-7 by Mississippi State.

Clemson has been ranked no lower than sixth in the AP poll since October 4, 2015, and has been ranked in the top five for 28 straight polls, the longest such active streak in the country.

3 in the Amway Coaches Poll for the second week in a row. I moved Penn State in front of USC this week in third and Clemson, Washington and Wisconsin in the fifth through seventh spots for the time being. Three Big Ten teams round out the top 10 - MI (3-0), Wisconsin (3-0) and Ohio State (2-1).

Even with FSU football dropping in both polls, the conference is still tied for the most teams in the Top 16 of both polls as the ACC has four teams (Clemson, FSU, Va. Tech and Miami, who somehow moved up) in that group to tie them with the Big Ten. Georgia 12. Florida State 13.

New kids on the block: No. 19 Mississippi State, No. 24 Oregon, No. 25 San Diego State.
