Three die in shooting near Colorado State University

Investigators say Zamora killed McNealy, 26-year-old Tristian Kemp of Destin, Florida, and wounded another woman before killing himself early Thursday outside an apartment complex near CSU.

Grief counselors at Colorado State University reportedly tended to students and others at an on-campus student center.

Just before 2 a.m., McNealy, Tristian Kemp and another woman took a rideshare to the residence at 720 City Park Ave., in the city's Campus West neighborhood. The shooting happened at 2 AM. After shots were heard, University police alerted students and faculty via text and email to stay inside their buildings.

Authorities say a man suspected of killing two people, including a Colorado university student, and wounding a third before killing himself is an Air Force staff sergeant.

The location of the shooting.

The Larimer County coroner's office confirmed Fort Collins resident Savannah McNealy as one of three dead during Thursday's shooting. During her time at CSU, she studied liberal arts, art, and art history, according to Fort Collins Coloradoan. According to the Daily Mail, she was also a designer for the student publication CSU Life.

Our thoughts go out, as well, to the other victims of last night's shooting, whose names have not yet been made public. They were not affiliated with CSU. Police believe the suspect "likely knew at least one of the victims".

Police in Fort Collins are investigating a fatal shooting at a housing complex about a mile from Colorado State University.

"There was a lot of gunshots actually, so, I don't know, they sounded like they were all coming from the same place", Rutz said.

Another person near the scene, Austin Pickett, who lives in the complex, told the station,"We just kept hearing these manic screams, at which point we chose to call 911".
