Jose Mourinho admits he's 'worried' about Man United star's contract situation

Mourinho says Nemanja Matic was the player he "really wanted".

Tottenham will climb above Manchester United into second in the Premier League with a win at Old Trafford, a feat they have achieved just once in 28 years.

The 45-year-old revealed in his new book that he was unhappy with Mourinho's conduct when allegedly "unsettling" midfielder Eric Dier after a league match at Old Trafford last December.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the near future as the young England worldwide hopes of a reunion with his former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Mourinho added: "I don't speak about injured players so don't ask me about Harry Kane, because I have to speak about Rojo, Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Carrick".

However, Mourinho stressed that he got the player he wanted and admits that he did not expect that Manchester United will be able to convince Chelsea to sell Matic to them.

Mourinho has also insisted Luke Shaw could have a future at United despite the defender saying, also in Pochettino's book, that he would like to be reunited with the former Southampton boss.

"He has a future here, I think he has, but the situation is not easy because he comes from injury after injury after injury".

The United boss continued: "To play bad and lose matches I think can happen again, it happens". "I was honest. My relationship with him is very good, we are in contact. But he is in the squad, he works and maybe the opportunity comes".

Phil Jones is available to face Spurs and Eric Bailly may also return, following both centre-backs' respective injuries.
