Woman with 'Fuck Trump' truck decal adds sheriff's name after being arrested

The Facebook post was no longer visible Thursday morning after it was removed or the privacy settings were changed.

Karen Fonseca, driver of a truck bearing a profane anti-Trump message, was arrested November 16, 2017 on a felony warrant for fraud originating with the Rosenberg Police Department.

She was released on a $1,500 bond.

The threat of legal action stems from controversy over a Facebook post Nehls made on Wednesday, Nov. 15, regarding Fonseca's truck, which bears a sticker that reads "F-- Trump and f-- you for voting for him".

Forsenca spoke with KPRC Click 2 Houston once again and told reporters, "The sticker is getting its point across".

Karen Fonseca was booked into Fort Bend county jail on Thursday after sheriffs discovered she had an outstanding warrant for fraud from August this year.

Texas law prohibits the type of display Fonseca placed on her trucks rear window. Attorney Brian Middleton says those stops would have alerted Nehls to Fonseca before the sheriff targeted her online.

Another day, another angry sticker added to that headline-making, Trump-hating pick-up truck.

"'We have to protect people's First Amendment right to free speech", Reynolds said.

At a news conference outside the Fort Bend County Justice Center on Monday, Fonseca slammed the sheriff, who is considering a run for Congress, and accused him of pulling a political stunt.

"I'm nearly certain it does have to do with this", she told KHOU.

A Texas woman is doubling down after being arrested last week on what she said were bogus charges the local sheriff used to cover up his real motive: A personal distaste for her political opinions.

Once Fonseca was identified, the sheriff's Facebook post was taken down. "We should stand together and always stand behind what [we] believe", Fronseca said.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls threatened to charge a driver with disorderly conduct November 15 because of a profanity-laced anti-Trump sticker. "And I'm just one person", mom Karen Fonseca said at the press conference. That was also when Fort Bend County District Attorney John Healey said he would not accept charges, considering what he knew about the case. "He has professional detectives under his employment who could have easily found Mrs. Fonseca if they needed to find her".
