Excited crowds gather to see Harry on first official outing with Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are fresh off announcing their engagement but already in full swing with their royal duties. shaking hands and probably kissing babies. Friday is World AIDS Day.

For their first joint royal engagement, the couple, who will Wednesday next May, visited the National Justice Museum before heading off to the Nottingham Contemporary to attend the Terrence Higgins Trust charity fair, in honour of World AIDS Day, which falls on December 1. Harry has focused on mental health and helping those with HIV, while Markle held roles with World Vision and UN Women, travelling to Rwanda to promote clean water and championing women's rights.

As soon as they appeared, the gathered crowd went wild, chanting their names, and straining to get the chance to speak to the happy couple.

"We love Harry, and Meghan she looks attractive doesn't she", Betty Parker, 78, told Reuters as she waited to meet the couple.

The 81-year-old is well-known for handing bags of Haribo candies to Harry, and first presented his father, the Prince of Wales, with two bags - the other for brother William - 20 years ago.

Asked what she thought of the engagement, she added: "We really wish them all the very best - they're a lovely couple". Holding hands throughout the entire interview, Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, looked relaxed and super in love, even poking fun at each other and making faces.

The couple, who got engaged earlier this month at the cottage they share in the grounds of Kensington Palace in central London, are to be married next May in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the family home of British kings and queens for nearly 1,000 years.

"I always thought I'd marry Harry but you can't win them all", she joked. "She will also become the fourth patron of the Royal Foundation of the Dukeand Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry".
