Dead & Company postpone show after John Mayer hospitalized for emergency appendectomy

Musician John Mayer was hospitalized early Tuesday to undergo an emergency appendectomy, according to an announcement from his bandmates in Dead & Company.

For once in your life you can say that you had a better night than John Mayer. All tickets for the December 5 show will be honored for the rescheduled date. Along with John, Dead & Company consists of Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, as well as Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.

The 40-year-old Mayer "was admitted into the hospital for an emergency appendectomy" early Tuesday, a representative said in a statement without further detail. Mayer is now touring with the group.

In the case that the fans will not be able to attend the show at another time, they will receive a full refund at the point of purchase.

Dead & Company is now next scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL.

Mayer plays lead guitar in the group that includes three original members of the legendary Grateful Dead.

The band is scheduled to play the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on December 7.
