Woman arrested for smoking on airplane, threatening to kill fellow passengers

Curbello was restrained by passengers and flight crew before being escorted off the plane and arrested upon landing, according to KOIN 6 News.

It was then that Curbelo became agitated and began yelling "I have a destination for myself!" at the flight attendant.

The rant was captured on another passenger's cell phone camera.

The airline explained that crew dealt with the woman until she was met by police when the plane landed. "I swear if you don't f--ing land!"

A fellow passenger who filmed the incident told television station KOVR in Sacramento that after being ordered to return to her seat, the woman began making threats after loudly demanding that the plane land.

"You were saying some pretty threatening things like you were going to kill everybody on the plane, why did you say that?", Thompson asked.

Officials say the woman tampered with a smoke detector and lit up in the plane's bathroom. Saturday's flight had 136 passengers and a five-person crew.

According to sources, flight attendants caught Valerie Curbelo attempting to smoke in the bathroom.

'Our reports from flight attendants indicate a customer violated federal laws by both smoking on board an aircraft and by tampering with a smoke detector in an aircraft restroom.

Curbelo started screaming and making threats when she told that it was a violation to smoke on the aircraft, Southwest said in a statement. The safety of our Crew and Passengers is our top priority and we take all threats seriously. She said she was anxious about Cubello, and didn't know why she went to Sacramento. She remains in Sacramento County Jail on $75,000 bail ahead of a 1:30 p.m. scheduled arraignment Tuesday.

"I don't know", Curbelo said. Curbelo was then arrested on charges of felony and was sent to jail on a Dollars 75000 bail, states a Washington Post report.
