New Year's Eve 2018: Watch Mariah Carey, Camila Cabello, BTS and More

It happens to the best of us: one moment you're jetting into NY from Aspen to perform at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and the next you're fumbling with your inner-ear mic and looking generally peeved in front of millions of people.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" celebration starts on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. The pop diva confirmed that she will return to Times Square in NY to ring in 2018, a year after she was humiliated by technical issues at the annual televised ball-drop. "I think it's to have a crushing performance in Times Square", Seacrest said.

"We can all agree that past year didn't go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration", Carey said in a joint statement Friday with Dick Clark Productions, which runs the show. Carey says technical difficulties plagued last year's performance, but she's back for a second chance at ringing in yet another New Year - this time on a high note. Carey also shared a photo to her social media pages and wrote: "Take 2".

She just finished her All I Want For Christmas Is You show in Vegas.

"It's not my idea but it's a good idea", Seacrest said.

Her ex fiancé James also appears to have moved on from their split, as he has been holidaying in Aspen with his new squeeze over the last week.

"It's terrifying", said Seacrest, who recently relocated to co-host "Live with Kelly and Ryan". Lucy Hale will be hosting in New Orleans.

Sources tell Page Six that Carey is returning to redeem herself on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest", and this time the diva isn't taking any chances after failing to sound check last year. While numerous performances will be in Times Square, singers will be performing on the west coast and in New Orleans.
