The past couple years have seen a lot of excellent mid-range Android handsets, but one that caught our attention for 2018 when it was announced in late December is the Samsung Galaxy A8. Now the company has launched the device in 16GB storage with a price tag of Rs. 9,999. The phone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset, with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage, with support for microSD cards up to 256GB. For graphics, it comes with Mali GPU.

Other specs of the phone include a 3,300mAh battery, dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System. It packs a 3,300 mAh battery which offers 21 hours of talktime.

Samsung typically takes the wraps off of its new Galaxy S devices during the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, which runs between February 26 and March 1 this year, though it chose to launch its Galaxy S8 devices at a separate event in New York City in 2017. Samsung previously announced that the A8 would be launching in Vietnam on January 6, and now the phone is officially available for pre-order in South Korea. There is the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3000mAh battery operating under its hood.
