Woman climbs into X-ray machine to keep eye on handbag

Despite the best efforts of the machine's operators to deter the woman, she travelled through full length of the conveyor and emerged unscathed along with assorted items of baggage, at the far end.

A video showing the woman's silhouette as she passed through the X-ray machine at a railway station on Sunday has gone viral on the Chinese internet.

But security staff told her this bag would also have to be checked and so she reluctantly wheeled back round and placed it on the conveyor belt.

She was apparently concerned about leaving her handbag unattended in the scanner, so went in after it, the report said.

Staff were reportedly so stunned they didn't stop her when she collected her bags and bolted to get her train.

While the commuter was happy to put her luggage onto the conveyer belt, she refused to be separated from her handbag.

A video of the whole incident was posted on Facebook by PearVideo.

Dongguan Railway Station staff have advised passengers not to ride the X-ray machines saying radiation given off by the scanners can be harmful.

As China ushers in the Lunar Year of the Dog, hundreds of millions of Chinese are travelling to their hometowns.

It's unclear though why she did such a thing - possibly she had a lot of cash that's traditionally given as a gift for Chinese New Year.

The woman passenger, however, did not face against ill-effects, the security staff members at the Dongguan railway station warned all the other passengers not to indulge in such exercises.
