'Avengers' fans go nuts over new 'Infinity War' trailer

Tickets for the highly anticipated third Avengers film, Avengers: Infinity War, went on sale this morning, coinciding with the release of the epic second full-length trailer for the film, and the advanced ticket sales are already smashing records.

It turns out that all the superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date will fit on a poster - but just barely. Speaking of Guardians, Peter Quill's gang is all here too, and the trailer shows Gamora filling in Tony Stark on Thanos' backstory and grand plan. Disney and Marvel hope moviegoers will feel more positively about "Avengers: Infinity War" when it lands in theaters on April 27. Black Panther got in on the polling action, with 71% of fans saying they saw the film in cinemas, and 60% saying that T'Challa's solo adventure made them even more excited for Infinity War. One Stone's location, however, remains in secret, as well as who among the characters might be possessing it and this is the Soul Stone.

There's also Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) warmly greeting Captain America (Chris Evans), a new invention from Shuri (Letitia Wright), Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)'s awkward first meeting, and tween Groot.

So does this new trailer have us ready to buy tickets for the movie? The first trailer didn't do so much of that.

And then Spider-Man swings in through all the debris in space at the end of the trailer, but not before that amusing exchange with Doctor Strange about made-up names! Tickets are available for pre-order now, with the movie releasing on April 27th.

Marvel has yet to officially confirm the length of Avengers: Infinity War, but the AMC Theatres website might have spoiled the surprise last week. In the new teaser, we learn more about big baddie Thanos' plan for Earth and how he wants to wipe out half of humanity to make things more "balanced".

On Thursday, brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, the film's directors, teased the long-awaited trailer with an Instagram and Twitter image - but gave nothing away.
