Beyonce makes history, reunites Destiny's Child at Coachella

And the girlband aren't the only ones making a surprise appearance at the Californian music festival.

The festival's music is eclectic, with a huge rang of genres on offer including rock, indie, electronica and hip hop.

Beyoncé brought the heat last night during her headlining performance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The star's performance was dubbed "legendary".

The pair share daughter Blue Ivy, six, and twins Rumi and Sir, 10 months, with Beyonce pulling out of last year's Coachella due to her pregnancy. For some major throwback vibes, she brought her king Jay-Z onstage for "Déjà Vu", and made Destiny's Child reunion 2.0 possible with shimmering camo and tracks "Lose My Breath", "Say My Name" and "Soldier". And, like the true Queen she is, Beyoncé acknowledged the legendary achievement. I was supposed to perform at Coachella [last year] but I ended up getting pregnant - thank God! Toward the end of Beyoncé's set, Solange joined her for an epic, highly-choreographed dance routine to "Get Me Bodied".

The singer - whose set marked the first time a black woman has headlined the California festival - was a trending topic nearly immediately, sparking hundreds of thousands of tweets declaring the festival #Beychella.

Alongside the video, the Wrinkle in Time director told her 1.94million followers: 'Beyoncé's message to every other performer who has ever headlined #Coachella. "This is everything and more that I dreamed of it being", she gushed. "I hope y'all enjoyed the show".
