Is Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade retiring from the National Basketball Association?

After the Heat were eliminated by the 76ers in five games, the question on everybody's mind was the future of Dwyane Wade.

After a post game rant about his playing time on March 31, in a proverbial last straw on the matter, Whiteside was fined by the Heat for "comments detrimental to the team".

"There will be no breaking news here in Philly", Wade said at Wells Fargo Center, as Tuesday turned to Wednesday. "I know you're not going to make any decisions now, but, what thoughts do you have about your future?" He signed with the Cavaliers in September after working out a buyout with the Chicago Bulls, with whom he spent the 2016-17 season.

"You're going to make me emotional if we start to think about that or talk about that right now, " Spoelstra said.

Wade made his return to Miami, where he spent 13 seasons of his career, after being away for 2 seasons, at the National Basketball Association trade deadline and it has been quite the storybook tale for the icon and the team. One of those performances happened against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of their playoffs series against the Heat.

Whiteside and Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra are clearly not on the same page. I didn't think that this would happen this year.

Sixers center Joel Embiid said he embraced Wade at the end of the series in case Wade decides to retire. He's also been selected to 12 All-Star teams and has been named the Finals MVP once.

"I think they grew up and learned some things from us and the way we pushed them", Wade said. Simmons, 21, is one of the favorites to win the Rookie of the Year award after averaging 15.8 points, 8.2 assists and 8.1 rebounds per game. Additionally, he is second only to Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning in blocked shots (774) in Heat history.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Heat are looking to explore trades for the veteran and are willing to put him on the market.

"It meant a lot".

"The elephant in the room, and not because of anything approaching oversized play in the playoffs", wrote Winderman. "I was very thankful to the guys here that accepted me with open arms the way that they did", Wade told Reed after Game 5. Each day he's been back, I've just been trying to enjoy it.
