Attorney: Cowboys wide receiver Williams misspoke about crash

In a freakish twist, Vikings wide receiver Kendall Wright's name surfaced early this afternoon in connection to last Saturday's arrest of Cowboys receiver Terrance Williams on public intoxication charges.

Police found the Lamborghini at 4:41 a.m., determined it was registered to Williams and went to his home in a gated community.

"My friend was a f-king idiot".

Williams and Wright played together at Baylor from 2008 to 2011.

In fact, Williams' attorney even disputed he hit a light pole even though it can clearly be seen in the police evidence and could even be seen the next day. It might be the only possible explanation to the two very different stories Williams has told since the crash. The tale invited suspicion, though, after Williams told police he'd gotten a call from Wright informing him of the auto crash, only to then admit that his cell phone was still in his vehicle.

However, in a statement released by Williams through his agency after the accident, he said, "The driver in front of me slammed on his brakes and I turned to the left and hopped the curb to avoid hitting him". While he has never missed a game and posted 568 receiving yards in 2017, he is sidelined with a fractured foot until training camp begins. "Anytime you hit a curve going about 60 miles per hour and he struck his head, I don't know, but we're going to find out".

Plus, cops say they found the key to the vehicle in Terrance's pocket when they searched him.

"My friend was a f--ing idiot and I'm literally driving toward to see what happened to [my car]", Williams said in the arrest video.

"All I have is what Terrance remembers", the attorney said, via Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News.

The police report states that Williams told the cops he was just "driving down the street and he fell" off his electric bike. I live right near where the accident occurred, so my neighbor dropped me off and I called a tow truck and took the scooter from my house to go meet the tow truck driver. Police found Williams' cell phone in the wrecked Lamborghini. Anytime you hit a curve going about 60 miles per hour and struck his head, I don't know, but we're going to find out.

The involvement of Wright doesn't appear to be the only big hole in Williams' story.

Video showed that the police officers who arrested Williams were professional throughout the incident, and Williams was cooperative.

"Based on the totality of the circumstances Terrance was believed to be intoxicated in a public place", the police report said. "I'm hopeful. I don't know the details".

Williams, 28, was released from the Frisco Detention Center on a $369 bond. "I read his public statement about it and take it at face value".
