Warner Bros accidentally leaks Hitman 2

While neither of the tweets confirmed what the news would be, according to multiple reddit threads, at the same time as these teaser tweets went live, internet sleuths found a Hitman 2 logo file on the Warner Bros. website. Interactive Games to unveil something related to the stealth-action franchise on June 7, 2018, which will be just a few short days from now.

Hitman 2 would be the tenth Hitman game released for the franchise, which was created by IO Interactive and originally published by Eidos and Square Enix.

The new logo, which was quickly spotted by Eurogamer before being pulled, removes nearly all doubt: we're about to see Hitman 2 (here's the logo's original URL if you're curious, or if you enjoy 404 errors).

What's interesting is that it didn't say "Season 2" instead. Looks like Agent 47 will be doing murder in the pitlane this season.

Both the official Hitman account and WB Games teased that an announcement was imminent that tied into the series, especially with E3 on the horizon.

That leaves it uncertain as to whether the new game will continue the episodic releases of the last one or if it'll be a standard all-in-one retail release.
