Palestinian Media: Israel stops Freedom Flotilla

The rest are still being detained.

This time, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition said most of the activists were European, but also came from Malaysia, the U.S., and Israel.

According to the group, Mr Soo was with Dr Ang and was creating a documentary about her. Dr Ang quit her job in 1982 to treat casualties in war-torn Lebanon.

At the time, Israel's Foreign ministry said it had provided the flotilla with permission.

Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Women, Family and Community Development Minister, said that as such the blockade of Gaza should come to an end and the freedom of movement for all Palestinians must be restored.

FREEDOM FLOTILLA COALITION, which organised the aid mission to the Gaza Strip.

In total, Israel detained 20 Palestinians overnight in a widespread operation, the military said, including students from Hebron University who are members of the Hamas student group. "All Singaporeans should comply with the laws of the countries they are visiting".

"A while ago, a naval operation ended during which a ship sailing from Europe with the aim of violating a naval blockade imposed on Gaza was captured", he said on Twitter.

Through the Kuala Lumpur embassy in Cairo, Malaysia also works closely with Palestinian authorities to facilitate the release of those on board, the text quoted by Bernama news agency said.

However, the Israeli navy is expected to prevent the ships from reaching Gaza shores as was the case with previous attempts by pro-Palestine activists.

This year's freedom flotilla was deployed just weeks after Israeli forces opened fire on demonstrators in Gaza protesting for the right of return, killing more than 60.

Hamas uses the station as a mouthpiece to spread its messages to the masses, and it's not new for Israel to try taking action against purveyors of terroristic propaganda as it tries shutting down Palestinian media outlets and publications that incite against Israelis and promote terror attacks.

Israeli forces have violently boarded a ship, being followed by Consortium News, that was headed to Gaza bringing humanitarian aid.

The "Return" (al-Awda) is one of two vessels making up the flotilla, alongside "Freedom".

"The Freedom Flotilla Coalition calls on the Norwegian Government, the national governments of those aboard Al Awda and the Freedom [Flotilla], other national governments, and relevant worldwide organizations to act immediately", said Torstein Dahle of Ship to Gaza Norway, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.

Another activist died years later.
